Reflexology as a Career

A career in reflexology offers flexibility, fulfilment, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to people’s wellbeing.

Our Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Reflexology provides thorough, professional training designed to prepare you for real-world practice. You will learn the core techniques, clinical skills, and professional standards needed to work confidently as a reflexologist, whether in private practice or within the public sector.

One of the greatest benefits of becoming a reflexologist is the freedom it offers. You can choose when and where you work, creating a career that fits around your lifestyle and commitments. Success in reflexology is built through dedication, enthusiasm, and high-quality training — all of which are central to our programme.

Interest in complementary medicine has grown significantly in recent years, with reflexology increasingly recognised for its role in supporting health and wellbeing. As complementary therapies gain acceptance in primary healthcare settings, opportunities for qualified reflexologists continue to expand.

Training with Reflexology & Holistic Health ensures you receive comprehensive instruction, practical experience, and ongoing support. Our graduates leave with the skills, confidence, and professional grounding needed to establish successful private practices or pursue roles within organisations such as the NHS as clinical reflexologists.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior experience?

No prior experience is required. The course is designed for beginners and for those already working in complementary therapies who wish to expand their skills.

You will be guided step-by-step through both the theoretical knowledge and practical techniques needed to become a reflexology practitioner. Teaching takes place in a supportive learning environment where students can gradually build confidence as their skills progress.

How many case studies are required?

Practical experience is essential to becoming a skilled and confident reflexologist. Students are required to complete 100 case study treatments during the course.

Case studies provide hands-on experience working with diverse clients and applying techniques and knowledge learned in training. They also enable me to monitor your progress, provide feedback, and support your development throughout the programme.

Some of these treatments may be completed with fellow students during supervised training sessions, giving you additional guidance and practical support as you build your confidence.

Will I be able to obtain insurance during the course?

Yes. Student insurance is included in the course fee, which provides cover while you are completing your training and carrying out case study treatments as part of the programme.

Once you have successfully completed the course and qualified, I can also offer guidance on suitable professional insurance providers to help you move smoothly into professional practice.

Can I practise reflexology after qualifying?

Yes. Once you have successfully completed the course requirements, assessments and case studies, you will be able to begin practising reflexology professionally.

Many graduates choose to establish their own private reflexology practice, while others work within holistic clinics, wellness centres or complementary therapy settings.

Graduates may also choose to apply for membership with professional reflexology organisations and voluntary registration with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), subject to meeting the relevant entry requirements.

How much time should I allow for study and practice?

In addition to attending the scheduled training sessions, students should allow time for home study, reading, and completing case study treatments. The course is designed to be manageable alongside work or other commitments, but regular practice is important for developing practical skills and confidence.

What support will I receive during the course?

Students receive ongoing tutor support throughout the programme. I place great importance on creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.

Guidance and feedback are provided during training sessions and throughout the case study period to help ensure steady progress and confidence in practice.

Am I too old (or too young) to train as a reflexologist?

This qualification is designed for those wishing to become Reflexologists and who are aged 19+ on the first day of teaching.

People come to reflexology training at many different stages of life. Some students are looking for a new career later in life, while others are starting their professional journey in complementary therapies. What matters most is an interest in wellbeing and a willingness to learn practical skills.

The course is designed to be accessible and supportive for adult learners of all backgrounds.

Can I study this course alongside work or other commitments?

Yes. The course is structured to allow students to balance their training with work, family, and other commitments. Training days are scheduled in advance, and the remaining study time involves home study and completing case studies at a pace that works for you within the course timeframe.

Many students successfully complete the programme while continuing to work or manage other responsibilities.

Will I be confident enough to treat clients?

Developing confidence is a key focus of the course. Through guided practical training, supervised practice, and the completion of case studies, students gradually build the skills and experience needed to work safely and professionally with clients.

By the time students complete their training, they will have performed a significant number of treatments and gained valuable hands-on experience.

Is it possible to build a career in reflexology?

Many reflexologists go on to establish successful private practices or work within holistic clinics, wellness centres, or complementary therapy environments. Some practitioners also combine reflexology with other complementary therapies.

The course includes guidance on professional practice to help students transition from training to professional work.
